What is a pre-master programme?
Modified on Fri, 15 Aug at 12:14 PM
A pre-master is a one-year deficiency booster programme designed to fit a specific master's programme. If a student is not directly admissible to a master's degree programme of Erasmus School of Economics, they might be eligible to one of the pre-master programmes. A completed pre-master does not entitle you to a bachelor's degree or diploma.
In order to be eligible for admission to any of our pre-master programmes, you must have obtained a relevant or related bachelor's degree. All courses in the pre-master programmes are bachelor-level courses, that provide you with a solid background for your master programme of choice.
The pre-masters are not intended for students seeking to change their academic field. They serve as booster programmes, not as substitutes for a full three-year WO bachelor’s degree. Consequently, the admission requirements for our pre-master programmes closely mirror those of our master’s programmes.
Please note: a pre-master must be completed within a maximum of two years in order to start with the according master's degree programme. Students holding a Dutch residence permit with study purpose are allowed a maximum term of one academic year to complete the pre-master programme, according to the leglislation of the Dutch Immigration Services (IND).
