We understand that one of the most important question from prospective students is whether they are admissible. Unfortunately, we cannot provide an indication of admissibility in advance. The Examination Board must carefully assess your academic background to determine whether it is equivalent in level and content to our bachelor’s programmes. Your application will only be reviewed once it has been fully submitted.
If you would like an idea of your chances, you can compare your previous education with the curriculum of our bachelor’s degree programmes mentioned below.
If you are interested in the master programmes Economics and Business or Accounting Auditing and Control, please compare the content of your bachelor's degree to the content of our bachelor's programme International Bachelor in Economics and Business.
If you are interested in the master's programme Econometrics and Management Science, please compare the content of your bachelor's degree to the content of our bachelor's programme Econometrics and Operations Research.
Should your previous education not be sufficient for admission to a master’s degree programme, the Examination Board will always review your application for possible admittance to a pre-master programme instead.
The Erasmus School of Economics follows the Dutch governmenal insitute Nuffic’s advice regarding the comparison of foreign degrees to the Dutch educational level to determine the level of your bachelor’s degree.
Before submitting an application, please compare your bachelor's degree to our bachelor's programmes to assess content similarity. The more overlap, the higher your chances of admission. While applicants with a non-relevant degree may still apply, please note that their likelihood of admission may be very low.
Next, compare your diploma level to Dutch qualifications using the Nuffic website. Only applicants with a bachelor's degree equivalent to a Dutch WO bachelor’s degree are directly eligible for our master's programmes.
We cannot provide a definitive answer on your admissibility in advance. Our office evaluates thousands of applications, and due to time constraints, we are unable to assess admissibility via email. Questions about your admissibility will therefore not be addressed outside of the official application process.
Bachelor’s degrees may differ in content and level, even if they have similar names. Each application is assessed individually and matters such as equivalence in level and content will only be evaluated once a complete application has been submitted.
