An entry visa is a sticker in your passport, issued by the Dutch embassy or consulate. It is valid for 90 days, allowing you to enter the country and pick up your residence permit. You have to pick up the entry visa at the Dutch embassy. Without the entry visa you will not receive a Dutch student residence permit once you are in the Netherlands.
