FAQ: Seminar dispensation

In this article you find frequently asked questions regarding the seminar and the dispensation request. Please read this article carefully before contacting the information desk and/or study advisers.




I do not fulfill all of the requirements when applying to a seminar, how do I write a dispensation request?

I have written a dispensation request. Should I let the study advisers proof read my request?

No, this is not necessary. 


What if my dispensation request is rejected? Will I still be able to do the major courses?

Yes, you will still be able to do the major courses. Please keep in mind that you have to enroll for those courses yourself.


Can I write the thesis if my dispensation request is rejected?

No, this is not possible.


Are the results from courses during block 1 bachelor-3 taken into account?

Yes, your results of those courses will be taken into account.


I miss three courses from bachelor-2: is there a chance that my dispensation request will be approved?

Generally, no. You will miss too much knowledge.


What if I had personal circumstances last year which caused me to not pass a course?

Please write this in your dispensation request and add documentation. If you have not done so already, please talk to the study advisers.


Is it possible to do the seminar at any other point in time besides block 4?

No, seminars are only given during block 4.


My dispensation request has been rejected. I have already finished block 1 and 2 of bachelor-3 meaning that I will not have obligatory education in those blocks next year. Is it possible to enroll later in the year?

Yes, this is possible (only for EU/EEA students). Please contact the study advisers to discuss this.
